The Bridesmaids Vs. Ryan Gosling: Who Wrenched Your Guts?

Five cringe-worthy scenes vie for the Best Gut-Wrenching Performance at the MTV Movie Awards. Vote for your pick on MTV.com!

Of all the unique and outlandish categories that the MTV Movie Awards have been known for each year, 2012's new addition, Best Gut-Wrenching Performance, might be the most unique, outlandish and downright cringe-worthy of all.

So what is a gut-wrenching moment? For our purposes, it is that one unforgettable scene in a recent movie that was so outrageous, disturbing or just plain gross that you had a physical reaction whilst watching it. A literal wrenching of your guts.

No matter your reaction to this year's very diverse nominees, be it the poo pies, head stomping or group food poisoning, we can almost guarantee the nominated moments in this new category left an impression on you. Here's a closer look at those five gut-wrenching movie moments:

Bryce Dallas-Howard, "The Help"
For those who've seen "The Help," there's not much to say about this other than revenge is best served cold, in the form of a poo-laced pie. In the scene, Dallas-Howard — a double nominee this year — who plays the cringe-worthy and hateful villain Hilly Holbrook, scarfs down what looks to be a delicious chocolate pie. Hilly and the audience soon find out that the pie has an extra "special" ingredient: poop.

Jonah Hill and Rob Riggle, "21 Jump Street"
Moving on to our next nominee, from poop to a detached penis. (Did we mention these moments are gut-wrenching?) In the final few minutes of one of the year's funniest comedies, "21 Jump Street," Jonah Hill accidentally shoots off Rob Riggle's penis, after which the handcuffed and injured party is forced to retrieve his dismembered man parts with his mouth. Bonus fact about this scene: Riggle improvised the mouth pick-up.

Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper, "Bridesmaids"
While there are multiple memorable scenes in "Bridesmaids," one of them stands out as the messiest. While shopping at a swanky boutique for their dresses, the bride and her five bridesmaids are simultaneously hit with a tidal wave of food poisoning that causes them to lose their lunch in every conceivable way.

Ryan Gosling, "Drive"
While Ryan Gosling made many women swoon with his wooing of Emma Stone in "Crazy, Stupid, Love," his turn as the cold, calculated and deadly driver in "Drive" had the opposite effect. Gosling's most gut-wrenching scene is a furious display of skull stomping never before seen on film. Talk about cringe-worthy, that elevator stomp is off the charts.

Tom Cruise, "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol"
This last nominated moment is the least gross of the bunch and also the most impressive given the physical feat achieved to produce it. In "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol," Tom Cruise's super spy Ethan Hunt scales the planet's tallest building, Dubai's Burj Khalifa, in a race against a nuclear clock. Cruise actually performed the stunt, which required him to dangle a mere 2,700 feet from the ground.

Sneak Peek Week kicked off strong with Kristen Stewart and Sam Claflin bringing you an exclusive look at "Snow White and the Huntsman" on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the cast of "That's My Boy," including Andy Samberg, Will Forte and Vanilla Ice, kept everyone laughing with a sneak peek at their R-rated comedy. And the first looks continue as Channing Tatum hits Universal's CityWalk to bring us "Magic Mike" on Thursday (May 31).

The film is loosely based on Tatum's time as a stripper. He plays an exotic dancer named Mike who takes newbie performer the Kid (Alex Pettyfer) under his wing to teach him the ways of partying, women and money. Watch as Tatum reveals it all live on MTV at 11 p.m. ET, and log on to MTV.com immediately after to catch a Q&A with the actor. Charlie Sheen Brings The Party To MTV Movie Awards

Unpredictable actor will introduce party-film montage and Wiz Khalifa's performance at Sunday's big show.

This year's lineup for the 2012 MTV Movie Awards keeps getting more and more exciting — and eclectic. The unpredictable-yet-entertaining Charlie Sheen has been added to the already star-studded list of presenters for Sunday's highly anticipated awards show.

As is fitting for his party-boy image, Sheen will introduce a fun-filled celebration of the greatest party movies of all time. The "Anger Management" star will also stick around to introduce performer Wiz Khalifa and his first-ever live performance of new single "Work Hard, Play Hard."

Sheen joins a slew of other previously announced celebrity presenters, including: "That's My Boy" co-stars Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg, "Gossip Girl" star Leighton Meester and "Perks of Being a Wallflower" castmates Emma Watson, Logan Lerman and Ezra Miller, who will also introduce the trailer for their film. Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield, Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Mila Kunis and Mark Wahlberg will also be presenters.

The annual offbeat awards fete will also feature performances from the Black Keys, Martin Solveig and Fun. Not only that, but "The Dark Knight Rises" writer/director Christopher Nolan and stars Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Gary Oldman will present new footage from their Batman finale.

Comedian Russell Brand will serve as host for the show, which airs live Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET/PT from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.

It's about actual spring break and it's just, they kind of take it to a whole other level." She gushed about the chance to work with Korine, who she said took her acting to a new level. "It's great. The freedom we had, I mean Harmony, the director, was so flexible with us," she explained. "He just really allowed us to push ourselves, which was nice. He never said we did anything wrong. He just said it was a choice. He gave us these locations and just said, 'Act like you're on spring break.' They are survivors of our fallen, who are pillars of strength for their communities. And of course, they are our troops, veterans and wounded warriors, who have dedicated their lives to defending America.

This Memorial Day, we must remember that these heroes are found in every corner of our country, from big cities to rural areas, from base communities to small towns. But no matter where they are assigned or what their duties are, when our service members are called to serve, so too are their families.

That’s why one year ago, first lady Michelle Obama and I launched Joining Forces, an initiative to bring Americans together to recognize, honor and serve our nation’s veterans and military families. Joining Forces focuses on three key areas — employment, education and wellness — while raising awareness about the service, sacrifice and needs of our troops, veterans and their families.

When we first started thinking about this concept, we were pretty confident that Americans would answer the call. But the response we’ve seen in our first year has been simply overwhelming.

What was clearly intended as a jokey tweet lamenting the rigorous diet and exercise routine she is currently undertaking to prepare for her 110-date Born This Way Ball has put <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml "> Lady Gaga</a> in the crosshairs of some angry fans and eating-disorder organizations. On Tuesday, the pop star <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/ladygaga/status/189809689570189313" target="_blank">tweeted</a>, "Just killed back to back spin classes. Why she is being scrutinized for making an observation about something we already know — that celebrities engage in intense fitness regimens to meet the unrealistic expectations placed on their appearance — is kind of a mystery. "That was crazy.
