Last Tuesday, June 26, at 4:30 in the afternoon a firestorm fueled by dry timber and brush and fanned by 65 mile per hour winds swept off the Rampart Range into the northwest suburbs of Colorado Springs. The Garden of the Gods, a city park, famous rock climbing area, and natural wonder of uplifted sandstone formations was just to the south of the rampaging fire.
