A "dyno," short for dynamic movement, is one of the most exciting climbing movements. Climbers, when confronted with a blank section of rock with handholds too far apart to reach, use dynos to leap vertically across the empty
gap to the next hold. Doing a dyno on a route is both exhilarating and exacting. If you miss the top hold, you're going to fall.
